Today, there are so many different activities we can indulge in that truly benefit our bodies. Life can become so busy at times, however, that we sometimes forgot or canbt find the time to do them. Exercise and mediation can be a great way for us to alleviate some of that stress caused by a long week or a bad day. It is so important to make sure that we try and find the time to work on ourselves.
Yoga is a combination of deep breathing, meditation, and practicing different postures, all in a very relaxed and inviting environment. The benefits of yoga are to enhance our strength and overall well being. Yoga classes help the body to focus and to become calmer. According to the 2007 National Health Interview Survey, more than 13 million adults practice yoga. Research also states that some people see benefits in lowering back pain, stemming anxiety, and helping lower blood pressure. Others practice yoga just because itbs fun.
A few of us here at the office take yoga classes, especially Dr. Cardenas. Dr. Cardenas has been practicing yoga over the past few years, trying her best to never miss her early Sunday class. There is nothing like a one-hour yoga session, where you can almost feel the negative energy leaving the body as you take in deep breaths and stretch. The room itself is so peaceful and full of great energy. Once the class is completed, itbs easy to feel refreshed and ready to take on the day, full of renewed energy.
If you are thinking of joining a yoga class to try it, donbt be afraid, as there are many different classes you can take, including beginner classes to get your body used to the movements. I started with beginnerbs yoga and have made tremendous progress since then. Itbs a lot of fun and great exercise for our bodies and minds.
