Nisse, a successful physician, came to our Wellesley clinic concerned that her teeth were becoming shorter, more translucent, and gray. She admitted to a history of grinding and trauma and noticed that her front teeth were colliding, causing sensitivity and pain when eating. On examination, we diagnosed an anterior traumatic bite combined with parafunctional habits (bruxism). Skeletally, her upper jaw appeared slightly underdeveloped, creating an edge-to-edge relationship where her upper and lower teeth were colliding and chipping each other.
After carefully planning her case with our signature diagnostic protocols, we designed a Phase I pre-cosmetic alignment to retract her lower teeth and gently flare her upper teeth. This correction created the space and functional balance necessary for her reconstructive phase, where her ideal size, shade, and proportions could be restored.
