Erica’s story highlights the importance of experience and precision in cosmetic dentistry.

Only months after completing six porcelain restorations elsewhere, she felt devastated: her crowns appeared opaque and bulky, her proportions were unbalanced, and one crown repeatedly loosened until it literally fell out before her first visit with us.

She described her prior treatment as “traumatic” and was visibly emotional about her situation.

At our Wellesley Smile Design Clinic — the first certified Digital Smile Design Clinic in the U.S. — we carefully diagnosed ill-fitting crowns, gum inflammation, gingival asymmetry, and poor balance in her previous design.

Our solution began with diagnostic and Digital Smile Design records, allowing Erica to preview her new smile with a facially guided mock-up. We then delivered well-fitted provisional restorations to stabilize her gums, followed by crown lengthening on tooth #10 with our board-certified periodontist to correct asymmetry.

Her final restorations combined four porcelain crowns for the incisors and two porcelain veneers for her canines, hand-layered by our in-house Master Ceramist for perfect translucency and fit.

To safeguard her smile, we provided an upper occlusal guard for bruxism and a lower clear retainer to prevent relapse.

Erica now travels from Ayer every four months for Airflow hygiene cleanings with our team, ensuring her results remain healthy, bright, and long-lasting.
